Notice given less than 24 hours – £25 Charge will be added to the next lesson.

Notice given less than 48 hours – £15 Charge will be added to the next lesson.

If 2 consecutive lessons are cancelled – No more lesson bookings will be offered, and any existing lessons will be cancelled.

Please bear in mind that though a lesson stops after 30 minutes for a student, my work for that same student only just begins, and lasts until their next lesson, and so on and so forth.

What if I forget my lesson?

Unless you have cancelled your lesson in advance you will be charged the full cost of your lesson slot.

How long does a lesson last?

Approximately 30 minutes.

How many lessons a month would you recommend?

I personally feel that 2 lessons a month produce the best results for most students, simply because this allows time between lessons for the student to absorb and practically apply the previous lessons material.

What type of payment do you accept?

Bank Transfer only

Do you offer group guitar lessons?

Yes. Please view Learn guitar with friend for more information.

How many lessons will I need?

This answer varies greatly from student to student. In my experience it takes a complete novice with committed practice 6 to 18 months to achieve a competent level of playing.

I play guitar a little. Can you teach me more?

Yes I can! Though I cover all the requirements of Grade 1 – Grade 5 RGT / London College of Music Electric Guitar exams and Step 1 – Grade 5 RGT/London College of Music Acoustic Guitar Exams, I complement my core lesson content with various practice exercises that ANY guitarist can learn and use to develop their playing skills.

How often do I need to practise?

I would recommend 10 to 20 minutes a day of focused practice with no distractions. If you have time – and more importantly the enthusiasm – to practice for longer, you will notice that your playing develops at a much quicker rate!

Can my parent/s sit in on the lesson?

Of course! In fact if you are under the age of 18 years I insist that at least for the first few lessons you bring a parent or guardian.

Where are you based?

On the Hursley Road in Chandlers Ford. Please see my contact page for more information

Is there anywhere I can park my car?

Yes, but due to a strict car parking policy for residents that is enforced by the local council and police, please only park in front of 186 Hursley Road. The diagram below illustrates where you may park.

Do I need my own guitar?

Yes.

I have an electric guitar. Do I need to bring my own amp?

No, leave your amp at home, you can use one of mine!

I broke a string! What now?

Just give me a call on my mobile: 07584327911 or email me at: gordon@riverswayguitartuition.co.uk. We will arrange a time at your convenience to bring your guitar over and I will re-string the guitar for you. The cost of this service is: £5 including a new string.

Is my first lesson completely free?

Yes! The first lesson is completely free and is an opportunity for us to meet and access how I can help you on your guitar learning journey. Book your free lesson today

How long is the free lesson?

20 minutes.
